Simply - it's "Blokes Club"- but if you want the finer points:-

Is it just a club to help charities?

NO. We are a socialable club, some tables raise money for charities because they can- with the backing of the name of Roundtable people take you seriously.

I don't think I can commit

The famous C word. You are not committing to anything. You can attend any meeting or event as a visitor without obligation and without knowing somebody from Roundtable.(though please let us know you are coming)

What do I have to do to join?

You do not have to be invited !! Just get in touch. We do expect those who join to actively participate. We meet twice a month with the emphasis on a fun and varied social life. Our diary shows our program of events and oh

- we occasionally go down the pub.

Is it right for me ?

Round table makes no distinction between colour, creed, political persuasion, wealth or social standing in fact. You just have to male and under 45 (and over 18). And no one will try and sell you a pension, insurance etc etc

Our patch (so to speak) covers Bewdley, Stourport, Kidderminster and the Wyre Forest Area.

Fundraising

We have various fundraising events throughout the year

So far in our 2008/2009 year we have had our now annual plate smash at the Bewdley Carnival. Lessons learnt meant that we made a further £100 over last year. £50 was given to the carnival committee charity, £30 to local charity shops (who assisted in our quest for crockery) and the remainder to Noahs Ark charity via sponsorship of Deaf Petes Mountain Mayhem challenge. Our Annual Ball made over £1000 which went straight to the Air Ambulance.

All the money raised goes towards Roundtable charities or to local charities/individuals/organisations who request money for specifics.

2009/2010 has seen Past Chairman Simon Rumley Running the 2009 London Marathon raising money for Roundtable Children's Wishg - with over £1500 raised by mid April.

We will be crockery smashing again at the carnival and Santa will be doing his rounds again at Christmas.

Is it just a club to help charities?

NO. One of the main reasons to get together is to meet like-minded people, make new friends and have fun

Why should I consider joining?

Because it is a thoroughly entertaining and personally rewarding hobby that brings you into contact with many like-minded individuals.

What do I have to do to join?

It is not difficult or expensive to join, although we expect those who join to actively participate. We meet twice a month with the emphasis on a fun and varied social life. Our diary shows our full program of events and oh

How much does it cost ?

You pay for the meetings that you attend- the costs of these depend on what they are. We pay a standing order of around £30 per month which goes most of the way of paying for your meetings throughout the year. So about the same cost as a gym membership but far better for the sole.

The very first Round Table was formed in Norwich in 1927. The founder, Louis Marchesi, was a young Rotarian who felt a need existed for a club where the young business men of the town could gather on a regular basis to exchange ideas, learn from the experiences of their colleagues and play a collective part in the civic life of Norwich. Within a year membership of this Round Table had grown to 85 and interest had been shown in establishing Round Tables elsewhere.

Round Table owes nothing to Arthurian Legend, deriving both its title and its maxim from a speech made to the British Industries Fair in 1927 by the then Prince of Wales - "The young business and professional men of this country must get together round the table, ADOPT methods that have proved so sound in the past, ADAPT them to the changing needs of the times and wherever possible, IMPROVE them". The design of the Round Table emblem is, however, an adaptation of the table which hangs in the great hall, Winchester and which is claimed to be the Round Table of the court of King Arthur.

Round Table has used the motto of Adopt, Adapt and improve to make it an organisation which is still relevant in the 21st century

What is Roundtable

Roundtable is an International Organisation made up of like minded gentlemen. We do raise money for local charities, by taking father Christmas around the town and other fund raising events. But most of all we are a socialable organisation ie we meet up every couple of weeks and do things that 4 people in a pub could not do.
This years events so far have included Greyhound racing, Go Karting, Bowling, Paintballing, Quad trekking and clay pigeon shooting .

So if you would like to have an increased social life, enjoy a beer or 2 and puts something back into the community- get in touch- try us out (if you don’t like it you don’t have to return)

We meet the First and Third Tuesday of every month

The Man Rules

We always hear " the rules "

Please note.. these are all numbered "1 "
ON PURPOSE! 1. Men are NOT mind readers.

1. Learn to work the toilet seat.

2. Sunday sports It's like the full moon
or the changing of the tides.

3. Crying is blackmail.

4. Ask for what you want.
Let us be clear on this one:
Subtle hints do not work!
Strong hints do not work!
Obvious hints do not work!
Just say it!

5. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every question.

6. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it. That's what we do.
Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

7. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become Null and void after 7 Days.

8. If you think you're fat, you probably are.
Don't ask us.

9. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one

Round table makes no distinction between colour, creed, political persuasion, wealth or social standing in fact. You just have to male and under 45 (and over 18). And no one will try and sell you a pension, insurance etc etc

Our patch (so to speak) covers Bewdley, Stourport, Kidderminster and the Wyre Forest Area.

Round Table - FAQs

Round table makes no distinction between colour, creed, political persuasion, wealth or social standing in fact - we all have to earn a living. You just have to male and under 45 (and over 18).#

How much does it cost ?

You pay for the meetings that you attend- the costs of these depend on what they are. We pay a standing order of around £30 per month which goes most of the way of paying for your meetings throughout the year. So about the same cost as a gym membership but far better for the sole.
